| In these paintings, I speak about the destruction of our environment, which has severe effects on the planet most vulnerable. I have chosen to express this violence using sheets of shredded aluminum and tar mixed with industrial bright colors. I am also using collage pictures of body parts and satellite pictures of the planet showing effects of pollution. Living in Africa gave me a specific approach to the concept of pollution. It is not about saving our environment for the future generations or protecting a local bio-diversity, it is about people dying now. Our conflictual relationship with nature implies that we have to fight to survive, to transform to progress, and to exploit to grow. Where is this leading us? |
