Art is playing an important role in the Nigerian society. It expresses concerns and visions of our present time.
Created in 1983 by the batik artist Nike Okundaye, the Nike Center for Art and Culture makes an important contribution to the Nigerian art scene, by promoting and developing Nigerian traditional and contemporary art.
More than 150 students are trained in various traditional art techniques in the 4 centers in Lagos, Abuja, Ogidi and Oshogbo.
In Ogidi the Adire (traditional indigo dye) workshop is bringing revenue and emancipation for over 30 women.
