where are you?

Two women from different worlds share a common experience: emerging into life, making their way through it; choosing whether to embrace or rebel against stereotypes of womanhood, growing up.

This piece is about how women experience pain, confusion and self-denial as a result of society's tyranny and hypocrisy.

Women are alternatively seen as girls, wives, mothers, care-givers, whores, lovers, money-makers, punching-balls, cooks, sisters, home-warmers or sexual objects.

"Where are you?" explores how women deal with these roles, struggle to establish their individuality and assert it. The piece investigates how the places where you were born, where you grew up and where you live affect who you are.
